Iconography of Our Web Pages

Copyright

Inserting images into a website automatically creates a copyright problem. We have used several third-party services to create or find pictures. Many stock photos came from Unsplash for free, so we thank the photographers here for their great images. Below is a summary of them, with their names and their photos. Some have been edited (e.g., cropped or grouped into a collage). Pictures from Wikipedia are specifically described and linked. Images from Sobotta (the edition we used is from 1922.) have also been cited each time.

Unless otherwise noted, we created most of the diagrams with Keynote. They are based on descriptions and illustrations in the literature or our observations and reflections. Spending hours drawing the best diagram to explain a concept was an excellent way to understand each topic better. You can use them in your classroom if you cite the source. However, some diagrams contain external graphic elements we purchased and didn't create, so using them in a public space may be an indirect copyright violation.
